Well I\'m back from being on hiatus, and I have had a whopping experience with lots of different website software, mainly being forum and blog\'s. So, I have plenty of ideas to throw at you, enjoy and discuss...

SQL Systems
SQLite is probably the second most used SQL database out there. It needs to be supported.
MS SQL is for those who use Windows operating systems. A small, but secure number of consumers that needs to be tended to.
FireBird is another common SQL database system.
Postgres is yet another...
Oracle And the last common, widely used one that I could find that other system support.
Text Files shouldn\'t actually be too hard to implement in theory. I\'ve not tried it myself, but it seems simple. Good for the low-fi servers which are becoming few, but still good.

OFFICIAL Free Hosting
Look at WordPress. The wordpress.org extension is the main website where you can download the files, and do everything else. Wordpress.com however, is free hosting. So if someone wants to try out the software instead of wasting their bandwidth and space downloading and installing it on their server, we can waste that space ourselves! James has a server computer on the way, but it wouldn\'t be too hard to get a VPS or dedicated for this purpose, start small and build up. I tried to build a multiforums system for SMF but could never get it working; so I\'d need help developing it, but I would be happy to manage it.

WYSIWYG is simple. People are visual, so instead of showing a code view where they can see [this] sort [/of] thing, it\'d be real-time preview in the text box as they\'re writing it and using BBCodes...

I\'ve had a bit of experience making my own unique CAPTCHA systems recently. Playing around with AJAX and jQuery to get nice effects, then image generators and partly building my own. Why should we use a 3rd party CAPTCHA system when we can have our own? Ofcourse, reCAPTCHA and other support should still be there though...

More and more people are browsing the web on the go, with their Mobiles. Why don\'t we support that? SMF I know for a fact, has WAP, WAP2, and iMode themes, aswell as several other custom mobile themes and plugins. We should have that sort of thing.

More Languages is something that I can\'t step towards myself, since I only know English. But if we could have a Google Translate fixed position button on every page, so people can translate each page to their language. This could help cater for internationalization, but we\'d still need other REAL people to help out. I\'ll step back from this one.

More smilies. People want a site to be as unique and custom as they can, including themes, etcetera. I\'m a graphics designer myself, I\'ll work on some more smilies.

Stats Center is something pretty much every software should have. Where is it? Here is an example of a stats page and what it should include.

Most of my mods/plugins for SMF were BBCodes. Simple and quick, but took up too much space on the SMF mod site. If we could have a custom BBCode system in the Admin Panel, it would make things alot easier. I\'ll get an example up soon.

Theres more, but thats pretty much it for now. Discuss.

I agree with every idea here except the support of more databases at the moment. Right now if you added more databases I see one database not up to par with the mysql version. I.E. some features not available in sqlite or text.

PHP Code Snippet
<?php echo "Insert text here\";?>

Well languages will take quite a long time to get a good enough number up, but it\'ll be worth it. Any language would be good to start with.

Text files have infinite possibilities as databases, its just the matter of getting it right. SQLite may not have some functions of MySQL, but it\'s a VERY big system and lots of people use it. We can\'t just skip it like that.
