As in topic, what are your plans about NovaBoard foundation? Do you plan to write your own framework, or use ready one, like ZF or Symfony?

Hi again,

I'll leave this for the developers to reply back to, but I suspect we will be writing from scratch.

Depending on the developers, but I'd like to see a custom/from scratch framework.

A custom framework is the way to go forward, in my opinion. However there is still a lot to discuss - so at least I cannot give an answer at this time.

I think it maybe scrapped and started a fresh, unless the developers look over the current code and decide otherwise.

But I think, since it is a new team, we should start it from scratch, but like I said, its down to the developers to decide.

@FeralLoki - we do hope to get NovaBoard 2.0 out as quickly as possible, but please accept that this will take time. It's a whole new application being created here!

@Rafio - there is no point being dictatorial on the project and saying we will code 'this way' if the developers a) think it's a bad idea or b) aren't happy with it, or indeed c) don't have experience in that method. We will decide the best route and take it from there. We are actively doing this.

I will speak bluntly, sorry for that: James, it appears to me that you made it your goal to prove that you have no idea about what management or leadership in software projects is about. Every time you post something about this project, it makes me wonder if you have any idea how stuff should be ran.

Role of Project Manager is to manage his resources (people & code) and make main decisions on how project is ran, which means its lead who decides how software is writen, and coordinates developers. If you adapt model involving managers or leads, thats only right way of doing things.

BUT

If you dont want leads and devs, simply roll with website admin (guy maintaining website alive) and developers. No kings, no leaders, only people

Can we not discuss my leadership please.
It is down to the developers to review what we currently have and as a whole team decide on what the best route would be for the project.
