Any language would be good to start with. Text files have infinite possibilities as databases, its just the matter of getting it right. SQLite may not have some functions of MySQL, but it's a VERY big system and lots of people use it. We can't just skip it like that. If you know a bit of PHP it isn't confusing at all; we may get to a 'confusing' stage in a year or two when we add more things to it, but hey, who knows? Which provider are you with? You need to get the FTP details for your plan etc, and upload the extracted files to your webserver, then go to your website in a browser - the video shows you how to do all of this except for FTP'ing. If you would like someone to install NovaBoard for you, just let me know via PM.
